EVO ICL

A new first! Sun Laser Vision Center is proud to bring the EVO ICL to El Paso. The EVO ICL – recently approved by the FDA – allows us to better treat patients with moderate to high astigmatism and myopia (nearsightedness).

The EVO ICL, also called an Implantable Collamer® Lens, is a refractive implant to correct common vision issues like myopia (nearsightedness) with or without astigmatism. Unlike some other vision correction options, the EVO ICL is an additive technology that corrects vision without the removal of any corneal tissue.

The EVO ICL is meant to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses and contacts and unlike most permanent refractive solutions, EVO ICL is removable by your doctor, for added peace of mind.

Removable Option

The Evo ICL implant process is an additive corrective procedure. The procedure adds a corrective lens to treat nearsightedness and astigmatism. That means that should your prescription update or if other vision needs arise, if you and your doctor decide, your doctor can simply remove the lens.

Quick Procedure & Recovery

The Evo ICL procedure has been refined down to a quick and comfortable process. Most procedures are completed within 20-30 minutes or less. With a minimally invasive procedure, many achieve improved vision nearly immediately.  The procedure is performed in our AAAASF* certified surgical facility. *(American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities).

Lower Rates of Dry Eye Syndrome

Evo ICL’s proprietary lenses are made of biocompatible Collamer. That means the lens material works in harmony with the natural chemistry of your eye and body. The ICL’s ability to utilize materials your eye accepts while not reshaping your cornea means it can minimize unnatural causes of dry eye syndrome*.

Protection From UV Rays

By gently inserting our ICL into the eye were able to create a barrier of UV protection. The Collamer material that makes up our ICLs has unique properties that provide UV protection while letting natural visible light pass through unaltered.

Who is a Good Candidate for Evo ICL?

Evo ICL Candidates

• Are between 21 and 45 years old.
• Are nearsighted with mild to severe myopia (-3D to -20D).
• Have no to moderate astigmatism (1D to 4D).
• Have not had a change in prescription of more than .5D in a year.
• Are looking for vision correction surgery with the lowest impact on dry eye syndrome.
• Does not have glaucoma or strong family history of glaucoma.
