Sun Laser Vision Center is on the leading edge of vision correcting surgery. Bringing to El Paso and the desert southwest treatment advances, innovative technology and the latest procedures has been the focus of our practice from our founding. We were the first facility in El Paso to perform the EVO ICL, the first to adopt corneal cross linking for patients with keratoconus, the first to perform femtosecond assisted laser cataract surgery, and the first to perform Kamra® corneal inlays. We also were the first to bring technology like the Johnson & Johnson iDesign® Refractive Studio, the Staar S4 IR VISX® excimer laser and the Intralase iFS™ Femtosecond Laser to El Paso.
Our dedication to providing patients with high quality care and outcomes is only matched by our commitment to patient safety. We believe that the surgeon performing your surgery should be there with you all the way – from your initial evaluation through the end of your postoperative care. We are the only facility in the area to have a AAAASF (American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities) certified in-office operating suite. Getting AAAASF certification wasn’t easy. But adhering to the rigorous requirements and paying attention to the detail needed to maintain that certification is something in which we take great pride.
Our practice focuses on vision correction surgeries. These include LASIK, PRK, refractive lens exchange, use of multifocal lens implants for cataract surgery and Kamra inlay procedures to correct loss of near vision from aging. We also are highly specialized in keratoconus diagnosis and care. We offer treatments such as corneal cross linking (CXL), Intacs placement, scleral contact lens fitting and if needed corneal transplant.
Dry eye is a common condition in El Paso and we have very wide ranging treatment options for dry eye management from Intense Pulsed Light therapy (IPL) to eyelid rosacea management and even carry dry eye safe facial cleansers, makeup and sunscreens. Finally we are also a comprehensive ophthalmology practice for ages 12 and up, providing routine eye exams, glasses and contact lens fitting and evaluation and treatment for common eye conditions such as cataract, corneal and retinal conditions and glaucoma.
